1987 MASERATI BITURBO
When I purchased the car it was running, but that was about it. It used to have electrical gremlins galore, but thanks to the combined efforts of me and my father (an electrical engineer) those problems have all been sorted. I have tons of receipts and records of service. I also have manuals, tools, literature and history on the car. 2 issues of note: 1) that the AC does not work, but I have all the pieces in a box. 2) This car will not pass emissions as of right now due to the “performance” exhaust, or lack thereof. Electronics: All is in good order, except the fog lights. Exterior: The front passenger fender has some rust on the inside by the headlight bezel and the passenger door at the very bottom. The paint is old and has some imperfections, but it still looks good and is the original paint. There is some cracking in the rubber moldings on the outside of the car and the passenger side of the hood on the corner has a good ding in it. Interior: The drivers side seat has some significant wear on the side bolster where there is suede. Other than that, all the seats are in excellent condition and the power seat functions work. The passenger side door interior took a beating from the last owner, so it is in a bit of a rough condition (look at pictures). Otherwise, the famous clock is there and the headliner has been repaired and looks great. All the lights work on the inside as they should. All of the drive train has been taken out and inspected at one point or another, I know this car works as it should. It always fires up on the first crank (always has) The engine runs super smooth. It likes to run hot, but it won’t overheat unless you abuse it. It does leak oil, always has and probably always will. There has been a chase for years to find the best way to get it to stop leaking but it just won’t. Never stopped me from changing the oil every 3k miles and using only Mobil 1 fully synthetic 15W50 motor oil. All the power is there and the transmission and rear differential work just as they should. Chassis: The shocks have no more than 3k miles on them and the car handles solid now. The wheels are the only factory option upgrades available at the time, vary nice touch. They are 15 inch BBS rims that have been painted to match the trim of the car and so they add to the sporty feel of the ride, as does the tower strut bar. Modifications / Upgrades Ghibli II hood vents Full window tint at 35% Pioneer CD player with 120 watt amp built in 4 Blaupunkt speakers and a 6 inch bass tube with it’s own amp installed in the trunk by a Crutchfield expert, for quality sound, not ear shattering in your face noise. 15 inch BBS rims with Dunlop Sport 8000 tires 205/55ZR15 in front and 225/55/ZR15 in the back Tower strut bar from MIE Hella Fog lamps Ghibli II factory wooden Maserati steering wheel.
